1. Trek to Srikhand Mahadev ( approx- 4 Days after-- shimla)
Best Time to visit--- August ( This is the time when the local folks do their annual yatra to the Lord's abode.
Religious Significance: The peak is considered as one of the seven Kailash, the sitting place of lord Shiva. Every year the locals ( Primarily: Kullu/Rampur/Mandi) visit the ShivLinga at the top of the peak.
Terrain: Its mostly Lower/middle himalayan trek with the peak's height reaching more then 5000 meters . The trek will go through pine forests/ breath taking water falls/Glaciers . Temperature will be cold at the top and moderately cold for the last 4 or 5 hours of trek. But throughout the travel be prepared for a steep climb and some ice walk over the glaciers.
Route: Shimla to Rampur ( 135 KM -- bus/car)
Rampur to Baghipul ( approx 40 Km-- Bus/car)
Baghipul to Jaon Village( Hitch hiking)
The trek starts from here basically---
Jaon Village to Singhgad ( 3 km trek--- Langar available at the time of yatra)
Singhgad to Tharchur ( 8 km trek--Langar available at the time of yatra)
This could possibly be the first days halt--- Better stay near the population unless u are a freaking nomad.
Tharchur to Bhimdwari ( 11 km trek--- Including abt 4 km of vertical hike)
This will pass through DandaDhar-->Kalighat(The first sighting of the Peak )---->KunshaDhar--BhimTalai--> Bhimdwari( Langar available at the time of yatra)
BhimDwari to Srikhand ( 12 Km trek-- high altitude trek, This will pass through ParvatiBagicha abt 2 km from bhimdwari and this will be the last place where food is available. From Parvati Bag you lead to Nayan sarovar, Then from nayan sarovar to the top will be all 18000 feet and plus trek ).
The Return journey can be done as per your condition/ease and the love for the mountains.
